- Manage technical activities including: technical planning and control spare parties procurement, inventory management, warehousing, and transport.
- Prepare and submit for the approval of the annual technical budget.
- Oversee the overall technical budget; monitor the cost and effectiveness of activities to optimize resources and prioritize spending.
- Establish targets in areas such as spare parts purchasing, warehousing, and storage costs and service standards and monitor the performance of all technical activities against these goals.
-Liaise with other department heads across the organization to ensure that technical strategies and activities are integrated with other parts of the business and aligned with the overall corporate objectives.
-Lead, direct, and control all technical policies, procedures, and activities to maximize the efficiency, reliability, timeliness, and cost effectiveness of the organization.
- Identify potential successors and ensuring continuous training and development for the department's staff.
- Develop and implement buying strategies that satisfy the plant needs for spare parts. Strategies should be based on market conditions and Clorox requirements.
- Ensure that the monthly buying plan is developed, maintained and implemented efficiently
- Follow up on inventory levels, to ensure zero runs outs and minimum possible working capital.
- Coordinate with import/export department to insure that imported spare parties shipments are cleared on time.
- Authorize all team spending and spare parts buying checks.
- Constantly Follow up on spare parts prices / quality, and search for lower prices / better quality.
- Co-ordinate/systemize the communication of spare parts quality issues.
- Constantly search for new/potential suppliers.
-Constantly qualify / develop new suppliers for spare parts
-Work to avoid sole supplier manipulation.
- Ensure quality of purchased spare parties is within Clorox specifications.
- Develop a good strong work relationship with all our suppliers.
- Regularly update product cost records.
- Conduct new/upgraded product feasibility studies.
- Develop team direction setting based on plant OGSM
- Ensure / do the performance appraisals for team.
- Manage daily team meeting.
- Review team spending and compare it to budget and take the corrective actions in case of deviation.
- Develop team budget forecast for the next year.
